In a column for The Huffington Post (5/4, Holt, Contributor) Proto Labs President and CEO Vicki Holt writes that “for businesses looking to operate more efficiently and competitively, digital manufacturing models have the potential to create tangible business results that can be realized from the factory floor all the way to the board room.” Holt offers five examples, including: faster time to market leading to “lower R&D costs and a quicker path to revenue,” digital modeling to increase customization, lower design risk, more design flexibility, and lower production costs. “Examples of companies using digital manufacturing to improve their competitiveness are everywhere,” Holt writes.
